On Tuesday night, judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler declared that Alaina had won the competition when she sung her country weepie ‘Like My Mother Does’ directly to her misty-eyed mom in the audience.

But we suspect that even Mother Alaina might have a thing for McCreery, whose twangy ballad ‘Love You This Big’ has gotten more radio play than Alaina’s track, and whose Facebook page has amassed more ‘Likes.’ Even Tim McGraw showed up to support McCreery during the grand finale, which found the two teaming up for a duet of McGraw’s ‘Live Like You Were Dying.’ That’s right, y’all -- country strong!
