Nonstop Lady Gaga: ‘X Factor,’ the Grammys, a girdle gaffe -- and the head of Kermit the Frog

Lady Gaga has certainly figured out the secret to her own success -- now, according to a report out of the UK, she’s being courted as a judge on Simon Cowell‘s U.S. version of his talent show ‘X Factor,’ even if her touring schedule might prevent her from appearing every week.

But hey, that show won’t be in our faces until 2011. More pressing: Who’ll perform with Gaga on Sunday night at the Grammys? The show’s producer isn’t telling, but Elton John seems to be leading among the names being floated. Maybe Sting? Adam Lambert? Beyonce? Lil Wayne will be in the house, but his dance card is already full.

It’s been a weird week for Lady Gaga tidbits -- first she was accused of wearing a girdle (and a rather down-market girdle to boot, sniffs this Spanx fan). No worries, though. She hasn’t actually strayed from her Alexander McQueen preferences. And she’s more of a Flexees girl anyway.

She announced Tuesday that she’d raised more than a half-million bucks for earthquake relief with her ‘Gaga for Haiti’ day -- and then, through absolutely no fault of her own ...

... her name came up in connection with one of those ‘To Catch a Predator’-style stings, aimed at nabbing suspected Internet predators in search of sex with underage girls.

Is the undercover male officer who posed as young ‘Liz’ online a Gaga fan? He/’she’ asked the suspect to bring a copy of her album ‘The Fame Monster’ with him to their rendezvous. Oh, condoms too. Perhaps it was just a riff on all things latex?

On a more wholesome note, San Francisco-based mosaic artist Jason Mecier has completed a cool portrait of the woman otherwise known as Stefani Germanotta, made out of items including -- but not limited to -- toothbrushes, measuring spoons, golf pencils, King Cobra Premium Malt Liquor bottle caps and the decapitated noggin of Kermit the Frog.

(Gaga over what you see? Mark St. Patrick’s Day on your calendar and check out ‘Celebrity Junk Drawer: The Art of Jason Mecier’ at Ghettogloss in L.A. The exhibition opens March 17 and will run for two weeks.)
