Indianapolis art galleries reach out to Super Bowl fans

January 31, 2012 |  1:15 pm

Are you ready for some art? As Indianapolis prepares to host the Giants and the Patriots in Sunday's Super Bowl, the Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Assn. is presenting Turf, a mix of experiential art and design, about 1,700 yards from Lucas Oil Stadium.

On display through Super Bowl Sunday, the exhibition showcases 20 juried artists from various galleries in a 20-square-block area of downtown Indianapolis. A gallery tour on Friday is aimed to entice both visiting sports and art fans.

“Indianapolis has a wide variety of high-caliber artists and galleries, and this is our chance to let the world know it,” IDADA treasurer and gallery owner Mark Ruschman said in a release. “To my knowledge, this has never been attempted by a Super Bowl host city before.”
