Fashion News: Venus Williams loses at Wimbledon, may win at fashion

Tennis legend Venus Williams lost  in the first round at Wimbledon on Monday, her game suffering from the effects of the autoimmune disease Sjogren's syndrome, which she announced at last year's U.S. Open that she had. If the disease doesn't allow her a comeback, perhaps she'll turn to fashion full time. She's also a trained fashion designer who has just reintroduced her EleVen sportswear line, shown here. Two designers reportedly departed "Project Runway" on Friday after having emotional meltdowns during filming in New York City. Designer and judge Michael Kors reportedly was brought in to calm the remaining contestants. [NY Post]

American Eagle Outfitters launched its "back to school" campaign on Monday (in Southern California, most schools have been out for only about a week) using "real people" instead of professional models or celebrities. Fifteen people from different walks of life are included in the "Live Your Life" campaign -- including seven from California. [Los Angeles Times]

Poker champion Beth Shak is being sued by her ex-husband, who contends she hid her expensive collection of designer shoes and bags from him during their marriage and divorce proceedings. One can only wonder how well hidden it was since she runs a blog about the shoe collection -- she reportedly has at leat 700 pairs of Louboutins alone -- that's been featured on several television programs.
