Donald Trump takes on President Obama and Robert De Niro
Donald Trump had a busy day on Monday disparaging two of the most well-known men in their fields: Nobel Prize-winning President Obama and Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro.
The billionaire's fireworks began this morning on "Fox & Friends" when he was asked to comment on what De Niro had said this weekend on NBC.
"I won't mention names, but certain people in the news the last couple weeks, just, what are they doing?" De Niro said referring to the Trump's favorite subject, the "birther" issue. "It's crazy. They're making statements about people that they don't even back up. Go get the facts before you start saying things about people."
Eventually the actor did mention Trump's name and continued his argument. "It's like a big hustle; It's like being a car salesman. Don't go out there and say things unless you can back them up. How dare you? That's awful to do. To just go out and speak and say these terrible things? Unless you just wanna get over and get the job. It's crazy," De Niro said.
Trump, who says he will let the world know about his plans to run for president on the finale of his television show, "The Apprentice", responded by saying De Niro "is not the brightest bulb on the planet."
Later the real estate mogul suggested that Obama wasn't smart enough to be accepted into the two Ivy League colleges that he graduated from, and that the president should reveal his school records too.
"I heard he was a terrible student, terrible," Trump said in an interview with the Associated Press. "How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard? I'm thinking about it, I'm certainly looking into it. Let him show his records."
Obama transferred to Columbia University in New York in 1983 from Occidental College. He then went to Harvard Law School where he graduated magna cum laude in 1991.
"I have friends who have smart sons with great marks, great boards, great everything and they can't get into Harvard," Trump told the Associated Press. "We don't know a thing about this guy. There are a lot of questions that are unanswered about our president."

This doesn't make a lot of sense, considering Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard.

Don I didnt think you had it in you, but all the years I watched you, Im impressed! Maybe the wealthy are not out just to get the lower classes in America? Maybe the wealthy and those with names have a sense of morals and a responsibility to lead, true true patriots and stick up for the little guy!

How did America ended up with a twit like Donald Thump?
Posted by: D'evil | April 25, 2011 at 10:52 PM
Donald Trump isn't smart enough to have graduated from ANY college. I heard he bribed the school to give him a degree. I think people want to see his college records. Why is Donald Trump hiding his college records?
Posted by: Ucvbn Bjfyuvs | April 25, 2011 at 10:57 PM
"I have friends who have smart sons with great marks, great boards, great everything and they can't get into Harvard," Trump told the Associated Press.
Really. Has Harvard gone back to being an all-male institution? Do none of Trump's "friends" have daughters? Or are women suited only for marriage until they age, or talk back or something, at which time they can be dumped for a new model? (Which certainly appears to be Trump's modus operandi.)

My prediction: Trump's out to pull a 2012 version of 1992 Ross Perot and ensure the re-election of President Obama. The guy's not this wacky. He's on record as being a big supporter of then candidate Obama, being a Democrat, etc. The guy's not this wacky. After the election he'll sneer back at his supporters and say, "How could you be this ignorant? The record's there."

"He can say what he wants, but the fact is that [Obama] has not revealed his birth certificate."
no one I know has seen the official 'long form birth certificate' with the name and signature of the delivering physician and the hospital.
The President of the United States should be above suspicion............
Posted by: Scott Aspen | April 25, 2011 at 11:11 PM
Hi Donald,
Please reveal how you keep the hair-do! It's bit similar to Obama's birth certificate situation. Why don't you dispel the mist of suspicion by revealing how it's done! What lies underneath is of less interest from what I hear and read.
PS: Do you know that some people really believe that the more money they have the smarter they think they are?

I find it amusing that Obama and the Nobel prize are mentioned in the same breath whenever one tries to improve his stature. It fails!!!
This administration is violating the law of the land and the constitution by not enforcing the laws it is obligated to in this country and worst of all by prosecuting a war in Libya without advice or consent from the congress. The constitution says only congress can declare war. This is the same political group who were sniveling when the other political group did the same for the same entities, the British and BP.
It is illegal, immoral, and shameful.
Posted by: I.H. | April 25, 2011 at 11:12 PM
The Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama who got us into war#3 in Libya?? Obama who rushed to sign Executive Order # 13489 the day after he took office, sealing all his records, not just his long form birth certificate. What's to hide Barry???
Posted by: bobby99 | April 25, 2011 at 11:14 PM
Keep talking Donald, keep talking. For those that enjoy the sort of garbage he spouts know that he will take all your campaign donations and then drop out of the race towards the end. In the meantime he will likely assist President Obama in his reelection bid.
Posted by: Silent Majority | April 25, 2011 at 11:15 PM
Robert DeNiro, I have a question for you, what is there to back up when the guy (Obama) is hiding things. Answer that. Dummy
Posted by: James Soh | April 25, 2011 at 11:26 PM
Donald Trump is an idiot. He is disrepectful and should show some appreciation for all the hard work our president has done. Would our president be so stupid as to lie about where he was born or went to school? I don't think so. He needs to give it a rest and focus on more important issues if he plans on running for president. Are you really that concerned about all that when our economy is failing and our people are suffering? Is this an example of the kind of things you will be focusing on if you were our president? Seriously, you are so fired!
Posted by: Regina Garcia | April 25, 2011 at 11:27 PM
If Trump is not willing to demystify to the public what is laying on top of his head, then why should our President disclose personal information to a halfwitted numb-skull.
I'm certain the FBI has done their homework and are convinced that the man is a legitimate America. Besides, he has more important matters to deal with, like cleaning up the mess that the previous administration left the country in.
It's simple... THE MAN IS THE PRESIDENT. Trump is a gambler and a risk taker. He has failed more than once in his ventures. He is corporate America incarnate and he needs your money to stay rich.
Posted by: Yuliq Mahbaht | April 25, 2011 at 11:49 PM
Give it a rest, Mr. Trump. Stop criticizing his background, and offer some alternatives to his failed policies.
What was that Nobel Prize for again? Peace? Are you kidding me?

sometimes, a person makes a statement about someone, and that statement says a whole lot more about the one making the statement than about its the subject.
thus, there are only two possibilities here: either trump believes his own birther rants, in which case he is insane, or he doesn't, in which case he is a liar. in any case, here is yet another proof, if proof was needed, that you don't have to be either sane or honest to be filthy rich.
Posted by: arnon Kartmazov | April 25, 2011 at 11:57 PM
Trump - reduces politics to WWF boasts. Maybe it'll work too.
If Obama were really not a citizen, it'd have been used to throw him out by now. What stopped the Republicans, scruples? I don't think so.
Posted by: Stuart Munro | April 26, 2011 at 12:18 AM
Some of what Trump says is dead on, and I would listen him over and Obama, Sean Penn and DeNiro anyway.
But, the birth issues is getting old. Obviously Trump has spent many millions on this with PIs, has some real info and dirt, and is playing with Obama.
There is definitely something there. Why aren't the conspiracy specialists like Mike Moore and others all over this...? Of I forgot, they are extremely biased and have a double-standard.
Trump's hair freaks me out. I don't know what it is about it, but hair does not do that.
Just wait. He has the dirt on Obama, Obama and his clones are freaked out (and quiet) and Trump will release the info at the right time.
All of his business dealings have had impeccable timing.
But the hair... just hold him down and shave him head.
Anyone would be better than what we have right now. We are the joke of the world. Pathetic. Obama is in so far over his head.
He looks like he has aged 20 years already as well...

President Obama graduate magna cum laude from Harvard Law and was president of the Harvard Law Review. Seriously Trump, you ignorant egotistical fool! How dare you try to compete with those achievements? You are nothing more than a two bit sales man with a gigantic ego and aggressive nature that serves you well in the business world. What have you contributed to humanity? What are your grades like? Where did YOU go to school?
Really people, this guy is full of hot air and NO facts!
Posted by: Lily | April 26, 2011 at 12:26 AM
I cannot believe what Donald Trump has been saying about our president. It makes me wonder if he has developed a mental illness. Perhaps his over inflated ego causes him to speak such nonsense or is he going senile. I am an educated woman and the state of Hawaii has shown President Obama's birth certificate and the president did graduate Magna Cum Laude. Perhaps Mr. Trump does not know what Magna Cum Laude means perhaps he is the one we should be questioning over knowledge base. Really the news shouldn't be giving so much time and space to this man. Lets get some real news on.
Posted by: Mary | April 26, 2011 at 12:26 AM
Haha, what a joker Trump is. He's using the same typical vicious attack/spin logic that Sarah Palin used to stir controversy and frighten the poorly educated. Trump is about a sharp as a bowling ball when it comes to politics. But will anyone fall for this? Sadly, some will. It also doesn't take an Einstein to figure out that Donald Trump doesn't really care about our country or its people. He's a rich man, and would more than likely like laws to be changed so that he can also pay less taxes on top of having billions of spare money. It's called being selfish. For those who can't figure it out. That also means he would likely cause the poor to pay more taxes, while he gets a free ride. And yes, of course there is more to this, but you Trump cares about only Trump. Also, months ago he said he was slightly curious about Obama, just a little, when it came to his birth certificate. Now suddenly he's obsessed still obsessed with it months later. He wasn't curious! He could care less and knows what he's doing makes no sense. What he's doing is trying to lead the idiots out there who desperately want to believe he has no birth certificate here. That way, they can have their little fantasy about kicking him out.
But notice that Trump doesn't talk about what he's going to do. He only campaigns by pointing things out about his opponent. Sarah Palin did the same thing. She had no real plan other than to help big corporations get tax breaks and ride on the lofty wave of having power and control. And there's people who'd vote for this clown just because he might represent republicans. You don't want him just because of that, hopefully. His intentions are not good. And his talk about how Obama got into Harvard? It's called buckling down. I was told I was behind in school in 9th grade. In 10th grade, I caught up everything, and then studied my books over summer to finish all the lessons of several classes. This got me high marks and put in honor section. But notice this. Trump does nothing but to seemingly speculate ALL the time. He does NOT care about where Obama went to school. He does not care about Obama's birth certificate! He's simply pulling strings to get the attention of the dummies. Do we need a leader like that? I doubt it. And where did Trump the "Einstein" go to? Fordham University. Whoopie.

This man is crazy now after 3 years Mr.Obama isn't smart enough, just like White folks never wanted black people to be educated get over it.Mr.Obamaiis the united states President commander in chief

On my Birth Certificate are Signatures of the Doctor, The Hospital, and the Registrar. Where are the Signatures on Obama's Birth Certificate?? Couldn't anyone copy that and get a stamp made, to stamp it?? I needed to present a certified copy of my Birth Certificate to get an original Drivers License. To be President of the United States, maybe it's easier?? I think it's a right to make the standard of proof of birth in the United States, stronger, to be the President. I believe that Obama is a good President except that he caters to Multinational Corporations and Free Trade, which the United States did not have before 1977.
We had quotas and taxes on Imports, and we had no or a small deficit. Today the Chinese are stripping our land of Logs, and Natural Resources, while running up a Trade Surplus in the Trillions of Dollars. We need to stop that now!!!

On the lack of a wedding invitation for our President and First Lady from the "royal couple". First I don't consider them all that royal what a sweet deal to be born into a family where the country supports you to such a lavish extent and to never have to have REAL responsiblity for your countrymen. Unlike America where our President Does have real responsiblity for the country and the people of our country. Thank goodness for the American Revolution. I think the President and First Lady can live without the snobbish invitation from such obviously ignorant individuals.

When Trump started trumpeting -- again -- about running for the Presidency, I just sort of smiled, shrugged, and thought "Here we go again."
But more amazing than Trump's oft-astonishing proclamations is the number of people who appear to sincerely believe that Trump the Chump has anything of value to contribute to public life (unless he decides to give his money to charity, that is).
It's a toss which Republican candidat3e, potential or declared, might prove to be the democrats' dream come true. However, The Trump is one of the most serious contenders for that role, as an increasing nummber of Republicans are noticing. And the possibilities of a Trump ticket are fascinating. Who should he partner with? Palin? Bachmann? Heck, why not Rush or Glen???

"I have friends who have smart sons with great marks, great boards, great everything and they can't get into Harvard,"
Maybe it's because they're simply not special in any way shape or form.
Maybe it's because they've done nothing meaningful in a social context aside from the 120 hours of community service to make that DUI go away.
Maybe Harvard would rather try to help someone go from rags to riches by their own insistence and talent then let another snotty over-tutored brat from NYC smoke weed dressed in Brooks Brothers for half a decade. Those punks can go to Yale.
Posted by: X31 | April 26, 2011 at 12:43 AM
I guess since Obama is President, he met the qualifications or he would not have been vetted. Sounds like Trump is volunteering to show us his birth certificate and college transcripts. Trump: Give up the racist Beck drivel and get some hair plugs!
Posted by: steve harris | April 26, 2011 at 12:45 AM
Trump never asked how Bush got into Yale so it's impossible to take him seriously when he raises Harvard as an issue for President Obama. Trump said of Mr. Obama "I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. " Who told him this? I need a name, address, and phone number. Trump says he has friends with smart sons who can't get into Harvard. What are their names, addresses, and phone numbers? Who are these people? We don't know a thing about them. Come to think of it - I've never seen Trump's birth certificate, elementary school records, or what his forehead looks like sans the comb-over. What is he hiding? Where did this guy come from? Nobody knows anything about him!

Good point, "JUST THE FACTS" he hasn't displayed his birth certificate. When I listen to celebrities the expression "NOT THE BRIGHTEST BULB" is the description that most often comes to mind. (LOL) Getting into Harvard isn't easy, a high GPA usually isn't enough. Also there aren't universal rules for the title magna cum laude. Some times the University bestows the distinguished title on a graduate for political reasons...

Trump's arrogance, ignorance and inflammatory nature is 100% American. I truly hope this clown becomes president, he's perfect for the job.

LOL, it's funny that Trump would comment on someone's IQ, because I was just recently beginning to question the same... about he, himself. This man is a bumbling idiot. It doesn't necessarily take brains to make money.... just a good trust fund to start, file bankruptcy every few years and your good to go. Okay, Donald, I challenge you to an IQ test, bwahahahha
Posted by: chris | April 26, 2011 at 01:15 AM
Wait, what? Obama graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law indicates that he was in the 80th to 95th percentile of his class. That seems like prima facie evidence that he was in fact not a “…terrible student, terrible…”. I can't tell this is all a big put-on for Mr. Trump or if he’s truly lost his mind and playing it straight.
Posted by: Mark McDonald | April 26, 2011 at 01:24 AM
How do you graduate magna cum laude from Harvard and not be considered a great student? In order to receive that honor his GPA has to be 3.75 to 3.99. Trump is apparently not the smart one. He has learned when to shut up.

If you have a lemonade stand that loses money every year you don't continue borrowing money to keep it open. You must reduce the liabilities to a point of profit. Obama doesn't know how to operate a lemonade stand. Trump is selling his Apprentice Finale and expressing America's dissatisfaction with 'your' president.

Gee, Obama and De Niro have done SO MUCH for the United States. How can we ever thank them for telling us that one of only people in the USA who cares -and- has the brains to fix the trash left behind by the last 3 administrations should be ignored.
The duo's track records are amazing as for being able to GET THE JOB DONE. Unfortunately... there may not be enough time left to wait for Obama & De Niro to do something positive.
We need the Man on the White Horse now !
