Will Shamburger had to secretly like his chances of being discovered by a Division I program when scouts continually flocked to his high school, St. John Bosco, to recruit teammate Keith Price, who committed to Washington less than a month ago. Another thing he had going for him was his versatility.

The senior is capable of lining up on both sides of the ball, at receiver or defensive back, a fact that caught the attention of several colleges. Boise State, in particular, showed interest in Shamburger and it ended up paying off Monday when the 6-foot, 180-pounder orally committed to play for the Broncos.

He had scholarships on the table from Utah and Washington State. And despite his pledge to Boise State, plans are still in the works for visits to Arizona State and Oregon, according to this report. It’s hard to believe colleges came to Bellflower to see Price and ultimately left impressed with what Shamburger had to offer.
