Tiger Woods, wife do not meet with accident investigators

Woodscouple_300 The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the single-car accident that left golfing great Tiger Woods bloodied, dazed and in the uncomfortable position of having to answer a slew of questions regarding the events that led to the early-morning accident Friday. But Woods and his wife Elin did not make themselves available to be interviewed today.

The FHP, which said it might release tapes of the 911 call on Sunday, continues to investigate the crash as a traffic accident and said there is no timetable for the release of the emergency-call recording. Officials, who originally tried to interview Woods and his wife on Friday but agreed to return this afternoon, said they should have the investigation finished early next week.

The FHP said they were informed by Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg of IMG, that the couple would not be available to be interviewed today. Rumors continue to swirl regarding the possibility of a marital spat

Woods is scheduled to host his Chevron World Challenge next week in Thousand Oaks, with a news conference set for Tuesday afternoon. There's no word yet if Woods will play or even attend the fundraising tournament.

"We do not know if Tiger is playing; we are anticipating a great week of competition," said Greg McLaughlin, the tournament director and president of Woods' charitable foundation.
