Michelle Williams may find serious fare such as ‘Blue Valentine’ and ‘My Week With Marilyn’ rewarding work, but she was thrilled recently when one movie set offered something else: an awesome place for her daughter to hang out.

On ‘Oz: The Great & Powerful,’ Williams said she and the late Heath Ledger’s little girl, Matilda, could really enjoy the wonders of the production, led by director Sam Raimi.

‘It’s been such an amazing move for us as a family. It’s a really happy place to go to work and a happy place for her to come visit,’ she told 24 Frames.

‘Often -- the ‘Marilyn’ sets and the ‘Blue Valentine’ sets -- they aren’t really ideal places for children. She can still come visit, but she can’t really get comfortable and hang out for a while. This really integrates my life and my work in a great way,’ she said.

Williams plays Glinda, the ‘good witch’ from the classic ‘Wizard of Oz,’ but it’s at the start of Glinda’s magical career. She says she’ll be exploring the character’s coming into power, before she’s the omniscient beauty we’ve known.

‘Oz’ co-stars James Franco, Rachel Weisz and Mila Kunis. ‘Marilyn’ releases this week in Los Angeles.
