Jessica Simpson is pregnant, the singer announced Monday on her website, bringing to an end weeks and weeks of willing suspension of disbelief by those who’ve been checking out her baby-bump pics online despite her lack of confirmation.

‘It’s True! I’m going to be a mummy!’ she wrote on her website, posting a picture of herself in Halloween-costume sexy-mummy garb, flaunting her not-so-secret mommy evidence. The !!!ANNOUNCEMENT!!! and link off Twitter very quickly crashed Jessica’s website.

It’ll be Simpson and fiancee Eric Johnson’s first child. The singer and the former NFL player got engaged almost a year ago after dating for around six months, but her refusal to commit to a wedding date or other details got people talking in late September, though speculation that she might be pregnant had been going on for a while.

Johnson’s divorce from his first wife was finalized a little over a year ago; Simpson’s divorce from Nick Lachey was final in 2006, with Lachey remarrying in June, this time to Vanessa Minnillo.
