James Franco preps a music project: 'Turn It Up' EP

June 9, 2011 |  5:37 pm

James Franco A James Franco update comes Thursday from our Department of Things That Totally Make Sense: He's now embarking on a music career.

Not satisfied with being an Academy Award-nominated actor, Academy Awards show host, English and writing student, author and conceptual and video artist, Franco and his self-kissing dreaminess will now take on the music biz, Pop & Hiss points out.

An EP titled "Turn It Up" will hit in July, courtesy of Franco and his frequent art collaborator Kalup Linzy. A sample of one their tracks, "Broken," is available here.

Linzy has previously participated in Franco fare including that "Three's Company" installation at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
