For James Franco‘s upcoming Oscar hosting gig, ponder the elite hosts before him who could offer sage advice: the likes of Billy Crystal, David Letterman, Whoopi Goldberg and Alec Baldwin.

But no. Franco instead has turned to former collaborator Judd Apatow for some helpful tips, as the funnyman and prolific producer just took a turn at hosting the Producers Guild Awards.

Engaging in a hilarious, adults-only Skype chat (see it here if you’re an adult with a sense of humor), Judd suggests that James should follow the traditional method of writing jokes about the content of the year’s nominated films -- you know, like oral sex. Apatow references this major, ahem, trend in flicks such as ‘Blue Valentine’ and ‘Black Swan.’

That should definitely be a hit with the loose, hip, prestigious academy. Franco then asks Apatow to send him all the hit jokes from his own hosting duties to be repurposed on the Oscars telecast.

‘If something works just a little bit,’ Apatow says, ‘we can give it to Anne Hathaway.’
