Taylor Swift, Adam Young are 'Enchanted' with each other [Poll]
This post has been corrected. See the note at the bottom for details.
Owl City musician Adam Young has figured out that Taylor Swift's song "Enchanted" is about him. And, just in time for Valentine's Day, he posted a reply to the singer's pretty open song about their first meeting.
Swift, who has written songs about ex-beaus John Mayer and Taylor Lautner, revealed to writer Chris Willman last November that she'd written "Enchanted" about a guy she'd met in New York City.
"Meeting him, it was just this overwhelming feeling of, 'I really hope that you're not in love with somebody.' And the whole entire way home, I just remember ... sitting there thinking, am I ever gonna talk to this person again? It was that feeling of pining away for a romance that may never even happen," she said.
The songstress, whose album "Speak Now" dropped in October, apparently spelled out "A-D-A-M" in the accompanying lyrics, which are about, well, how enchanted she was to meet this guy. In the song, she swoons over the moment and pretty much begs, "Please don't be in love with someone else."
Finally, a guy named Adam -- this one of "Fireflies" fame -- put two and two together and figured out that it was probably him she was pining after. (Wethinks it would really stink if it were actually Maroon 5's Adam Levine she was crushing on.)
"I'm so tremendously honored that Taylor would write such an elegant song and thereby offer a gracious nod in my direction. Needless to say, I was lost for words and utterly smitten. I couldn't stop smiling," Young wrote on his band's blog where he recounted his relationship with Swift's album and posted a pic of the two of them.
In his reply, in which he sings "Enchanted" back to her and inserts her name in some verses, he introduces the song with this love note:
Everything about you is beautiful. You're an immensely charming girl with a wonderful heart and more grace and elegance than I know how to describe. You are a true princess from a dreamy fairy tale; a modern Cinderella. I'm terribly sorry it's taken me such a long time to reply but I figured Valentine's Day was the perfect time to write this note to you and simply say...I was enchanted to meet you too.
Love, Adam
Awwww and a half! Though we ask that if anyone wants to write a love song about the Ministry, we'd appreciate it if you were a bit more straightforward -- if only because "Ministry of Gossip" is a pretty long thing to spell out in a song. And really, "M-O-G" hardly sounds sexy.
For the record, 5:40 p.m. Feb. 15: This post originally incorrectly attributed Taylor Swift's quote about meeting a guy in New York to M Magazine. The quote, from a Chris Willman interview for New York magazine, originally appeared in a Yahoo! Music post written by Willman. M Magazine gave no attribution for the quote.

This is news? Spare me please. She's juvenile and her hormones fall in love every 20 minutes.

It never fails to amaze and amuse me that people who don't care for Taylor or her music, scour the net for places to vent their spleen! These are the same people that complain about TV shows, use the remote, change the channel. Same thing applies, if you don't have any interest in the topic....don't read it.

How intriguing
M-O-G actually posts something positive about Taylor Swift !
I guess Valentines even touched your jaded humanity...
Adam Young accurately identifies why she is popular.
I am continually amazed how nay-sayers are more interested in cannibalizing their own young.
And really quite a sweet story, good on them both for their honesty.
My best to them.

It's tremendous to read a positive story about Taylor Swift when naysayers are more interested in cannibalizing their own young.
Adam Young has accurately identified why Talyors popularity is increasing.
This is a sweet story.
My best to them both.

this is so sweet.. and really, why would you even bother to read this if you hate her? if you're of no interest, then don't read this and post comments that aren't nice to read. you're just wasting your time bothering and annoying people. and Taylor Swift is right.. people throw rocks at things that shine :))

wow that sounded almost exactly like fireflies...seriously, one trick pony much? i personally hated his version, and if he really felt this way he would have contacted her personally, not used it to drum up publicity. Taylor deserves better

EW. No please stop. Adam, you deserve better!
And for all those who say 'if you hate her why are you reading this'
well because I love Adam's music and he's in this article too isn't he?
Besides, why CAN'T I read an article about Taylor Swift even if I dislike her? Maybe this article might have changed my mind (it hasn't).
PSSH.

I think this is the sweetest thing and after listening to both versions back and forth, back and forth...I picture a beautiful video of them doing it together. Adam at the piano, Taylor on the guitar...
LOVE this song more than ever now!

Adam Young is a sweetheart!!!!
After reading some of Adam Young's blog posts, I think he is a special guy. Many pretty girls make the mistake of going for the "challenge" of the unattainable guy, instead of appreciating the lovely good guys. Taylor only wanted Taylor Lautner after he became unattainable again. I hope Taylor Swift gives Adam Young a good long look before she moves on to another mistake.

okay, BOTH versions are WONDERFUL! Even if your'e a hater, don't say anything! Both singers deserve SOMEONE! They both are amazing people, and if you hate one of them, feel happy for the one you like. I'd hate to be one of them, getting negative comments all the time. GO TAYLOR AND ADAM!

The people in these forums who put down someone as talented, beautiful and honest as Taylor Swift are SUCH LOSERS. I wonder what these bashers have ever accomplished in their little lives and if they know how jealous and ignorant they sound. Taylor Swift is quite simply one of the most amazing people of her time. She knew that she wanted to be a country singer at a very early age, and she has earned what she has with her own hard work.
And for those of you who wonder why anyone cares, obviously you care enough to read the article and comment on it. You are clearly too far removed from Taylor's class to understand it so you have to put her down to make yourselves feel better.

Ok, first of all, Adam's song sounds nothing like fireflies! I hate that song but I love the rest of the songs:) And second of all, have you ever heard Taylor Swift sing live? Idk if she was just sick that day or what, but... she sucks... I mean, I don't want to put her down or anything.. she is a great role model (way better than Miley Cyrus) and she has a pretty voice, but she just can't hold a note without it going flat or it cracking:(

Adam is a Prince from a dreamy castle in the air… Dear Taylor you are so lucky… He’ll take you there in that dreamy castle, that is practically every owls dream to be taken up there by Adam…oh! lucky you!
Pls. don't write Adam song stupid break-up songs! Or else!!!
