The fifth alleged Mel Gibson tape: selling the Lakers box and feeding an army
The sun rose on Thursday, which means a fifth snippet allegedly of Mel Gibson's rage is making the rounds, courtesy of Radar Online, which bills this as the tape in which he "completely loses it."
Here at the Ministry, however, we're more intrigued by the admissions of financial trouble than by the repetition of bad words, screaming and panting. (Though if you're a tough-minded adult who's in the mood for profanity, you can listen here.)
What we gleaned from ol' No. 5: Money's apparently run short enough that the Lakers luxury box tickets have been sold, and paintings have been sold, and there's no money for that dress, which was a dress apparently designed specifically to provoke rage. We knew already, separate from the tapes, that Gibson recently sold a Connecticut property for the bargain price of $24 million. That property went on the market in 2007, well before the actor's wife filed for divorce in 2009."I just thought I'd tell you that the [Lakers] box is gone because of you ... because I spent too much ... money on you -- and my wife knows it's you." Spent money to the tune of more than $5 million, he says.
Keep in mind, around the time of Mel's divorce he was reportedly worth $1 billion, give or take, and without a prenup his now ex-wife would've been entitled to half of what was amassed during their 28 years together.
Robyn Gibson has, according to TMZ, written in a sworn declaration filed Thursday that "Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage."
But back to the other woman, where the mutual ruining of lives is at issue.
"You used me," he says, "and you are telling me and proving to me what you were and what I suspected ... user, you ... used me. I will never forgive you ... I will never forgive you for what you've done to me."
She says, in part: "You ruined my life, and you didn't give me a penny."
"I ruined your life? How did I ruin your life? I gave you [things]," he says. "You gave me nothing but .. grief, all right, and bad publicity ... how did I ruin your life?"
She calls him the meanest person she's ever met, "very jealous" and "very mean." His response is, well, very mean. (That'd be the "completely losing it" part of the tape.)
What's not surprising: He thinks she's a lousy mother, and she thinks he's the worst father she ever met.
Oksana's son, Alexander, a.k.a. Sasha, is mentioned early on, also, with mom saying she asked for Lakers tickets because she was trying to smooth the relationship between boyfriend and son -- a relationship she says is messed up "because of your violence."
Sheriff's officials are reportedly talking to the boy, who according to TMZ witnessed parts of the Jan. 6 fight between Gibson and Grigorieva that resulted in a trip to the dentist for her. Detectives have also interviewed the dentist, who is said to have taken pictures of the singer's mouth during her appointment and turned them over to her lawyers.
L.A. Now reports that sheriff's detectives on Thursday obtained the audiotapes during a closed-door hearing in the couple's child-custody case.

Note his ex-wife said Mel never engaged in any physical abuse towards her. (She said nothing about mental...either she got plenty and she's not talking about it, or he saved his screeds for Oksana...)

His role in "What Women Want" was an ideal...remember, it was billed as a fantasy. What Mel apparently wants is to dominate women...and that's sad. Even if his ex-wife never experienced physical abuse from him, somebody is the unfortunate beneficiary of his rants...and currently, it's his ex-GF, Oksana. Maybe she should just grab the kid, cut and run. I can't stand to hear his diatribes.

I do not believe this woman. It sounds like she is deliberately provoking him, and from what has also been reported in the news is only interested in Gibson's money.

How is this woman provoking him? Politically correct? The man seems to have a predisposition to Jews, African Americans and women...and the predisposition is hate.
Look people I know we love to have our actors, actresses, athletes on "do no wrong pedestals" and I also know there are way too many important issues out there that we should be focusing on (Oil spill, passage of finance reform (well done President Obama), job loss and the economy (come on President Obama!) but please use some intelligence with this Mel Gibson non-sense and call it what it is...in fact call him what he is.
Mel good luck you are a racist, anti-semitic woman hater. Not sure how you got there my man considering you live in a multi-ethnic society where 50% of the population are women. I guess its true what the say about the sins of the father...oh and if someone is going to rally back and tell me about his work in Mexico please save it. I am not chatting about that.

Mel Gibson isn't an evil person. He sounds like he has an alcohol problem that needs to be addressed. I am not saying that it was right for him to hit Oksana or verbally abuse her. However, Oksana strikes me as a GOLDIGGER. Why does she stay in the relationship and TAPE RECORD him?
It is very clear OKSANA is out to take him to the CLEANERS.
I don't think Mel should be plastered all over TV. It is a personal matter. Who does Oksana think she is? A Russian Princess? Please go back to Russia.
Did you happen to notice the racist/envious "....." dudes who were so eager to put Mel down.

We all know Oksana released the tapes. Why would she hurt her son by allowing the particular tape in which Mel trashes her 12 year old son with tim dalton on air? Why wouldn't she protect her son from that humiliation? Nice mothering.

Wait a sec, he was worth $1 billion? Even if his wife got half, $500 million isn't enough for Lakers box seats?
Posted by: Lucy | Jul 16, 2010 at 11:06 PM
@Lucy -- Christie D'Zurilla here from the blog. Word to this point is that although the divorce details are sealed ... lots of that money is tied up in real estate, and not liquid.
Also, a quick tour of the Internet (this is not solid reporting, so allow me some room for error and don't quote me) shows a luxury box is $1,400 per game, times 41 home games per season to get in there in the first place, equals $57,400 per year. So it's not like picking up a few tickets from the box office.

Ah..yes..It's good to see that we got the other minor misdeed of that other movie producer ( that inconveniently popped up ) out of the way so we could get back to the REALLY important stuff; i.e... crucifying Mel Gibson because of his drunken tirade of some time ago. What was that other movie producer's name? "Roman?" Roman something. You know..the one that drugged and raped a 13 year old, the one whose crime was covered up by the MSM and the likes of the LA Times for so long. Now this criminal can get back to producing movies so that he can be accoladed by the very ones that want to throw feces at Mel. Once upon a time media a_holes could have got away with this. No more. Feces thrown comes right back on their face. Thank God for the internet. Make another movie Mel.

This is exactly why Tiger Woods paid his ex-woman millions to keep her mouth shut. She has to remain silent even after he dies!

This is a premeditated trap set-up by a gold digging harlot. You Go Mel!!!

CM: "Character assasination"? Are you kidding?
Mr. Gibson is doing that all on his own.
What you call "political correctness" is simply people this obviously disturbed man out on his misogynistic rants.

Plea to Mel Gibson
You have blessed myself and so many others with such great films as Braveheart and the Patriot. Seeing the greatness in the characters was such an inspiration to me. It was such an incredible visual of whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report... (Phil. 4:8) In them we saw character and virtue that were similar to the great men of the Bible, such as King David.
It is my prayer for you and everyone involved that there will be restoration and peace. The best and only sure help will come from God Himself.
We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, there is none righteous, no not one.
The great apostle Paul has said:
For what I am doing , I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do...I find a law, that evil is with me, the one who wills to do good...But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wrechted man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God-through Jesus Chrsit our Lord!
Only God can restore what the locusts ate away and only He can do what is impossible (See Joel 2:25 and Matthew 19:26). After the great King David, a man after God's own heart fell by committing adultery and premeditated murder, he prayed this prayer:
Psalm 51
1 Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.
4 Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight—
That You may be found just when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me hear joy and gladness,
That the bones You have broken may rejoice.
9 Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.
14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
The God of my salvation,
And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
15 O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.
18 Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;
Build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,
With burnt offering and whole burnt offering;
Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar.
It is my prayer for you to stay away from adultery. For her (adultery) is the way to hell, descending to the chambers of death. (Proverbs 7:27) I pray that you will go back to the wife of your youth and take care of your children (Proverbs 5:18). I pray that you will take care of your new baby. I pray that you will be the man that God has called you to be. I pray that Oksana will take care of her baby and her son in peace. Call on the name of the Lord and He will save you and can bring much good out of this situation. For God works all things for the good to those who love Him. Seek the approval of God (Galatians 1:10) He loves a humble and contrite heart. He will again fill your treasuries if you just call out to Him! Seek the Lord while He may be found. He said, that He has loved us with an evelasting love (Jer. 31:3). Return to Him and He will return to you and abundantly pardon.
