Time magazine's ninth annual Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world hits newsstands Thursday. Among them are some fashion trendsetters, including Sarah Burton, who took over as creative director at Alexander McQueen and gowned Kate Middleton for the British royal wedding last year; that same Kate Middleton, now the duchess of Cambridge; her sister Pippa; Rihanna; and Sarah Blakely, the billionaire founder of Spanx. The writers are pretty interesting too: Sarah Jessica Parker on Burton, Katie Couric on Blakely, Stella McCartney on Rihanna. [Time]

Italian designer Roberto Cavalli says American fashion is "terrible, and you almost can't even look at it." The only reason anyone pays attention to it is because of Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour, he says. And he calls her a "great journalist." [The Cut]

"In this millennium, however, it’s a whole new bald game," Daniel Jones writes in the New York Times. Rather than go bald naturally, the man with thinning hair can take charge and shave it, going from follicle victim to victor. [New York Times]
