Grammys 2012: Adele 'a little too fat'? Karl Lagerfeld thinks so

Karl Lagerfeld on Adele

Karl Lagerfeld had a little too much to say about British songstress Adele over the weekend.

When asked by Metro Paris about what he thought of singer Lana del Rey, the 78-year-old creative director and lead designer for Chanel also mentioned Adele.

"The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice," Lagerfeld told Metro. As for what he said about Del Rey, who is significantly thinner than Adele: "Lana del Rey is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful."

(Lagerfeld's outspoken comments regarding beauty didn't stop there. He went on to say: "If I was a woman in Russia I would be a lesbian, as the men are very ugly. There are a few handsome ones, like Naomi Campbell's boyfriend, but there you see the most beautiful women and the most horrible men."

Perhaps Lagerfeld's constant exposure to rail-thin fashion models has skewed his sense of a "normal" female body size.
