First Brooks Brothers in San Diego? We stand corrected
Yesterday I started an item about the new Brooks Brothers store in La Jolla with the question: "Can you believe there isn't a Brooks Brothers store to be found in all of San Diego County?" This morning one astute (and presumably stylish) reader pointed out that there had been a Brooks Brothers store at Fashion Valley (it closed in March) and another reader brought to my attention the Brooks Brothers Factory Store at Las Americas Premium Outlets, both in San Diego.
Sure, we should have taken the time to surf on over to the Brooks Brothers store locator (where we would have also found a factory store at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets in San Diego County) but we just sort of assumed the company, which passed the factoid along in the press materials announcing the new space, would have had a firm grasp on the number of stores it actually had in the area.
The good news is, the rest of the information in the post -- the cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, the 15% off all purchases Thursday between 6 and 8 p.m. and the 10% of sales going to local charity -- is rock solid.

Sorry, didn't mean to come off as a jerk and thanks for making the correction. I just didn't want your readers to think that SD was a backwards place. You should know that we have our own Gucci, Burberry, Henri Bendel, James Perse, Barney's CO-OP, Hugo Boss, Kate Spade, Jimmy Choo and Rolex boutiques, among many others, here in the county. That means, no more trips to South Coast Plaza ;)
