A witness to history explains what Barack Obama's inaugural day means to her

January 20, 2009 |  2:53 pm

Our pal Michelle Maltais ran into Louise Rice, one of the thousands witnessing today's events in Washington, at this afternoon's inaugural parade for newly installed President Barack Obama. We published Michelle's personal  expressions about today earlier.

She had Louise explain to all of us all why she feels so proud today; not for herself really.

Her answer may surprise you. Give a listen.

On the jump (scroll down or click the "Read more button), we have a second video of the new president leading off the inaugural parade.
