Tina Fey, the actress who plays the lookalike Sarah Palin -- or is it the other way around? -- has been quoted as saying some not so nice things about her Republican doppelganger.

But this week Fey went on Conan O’Brien’s late-night show to push an upcoming episode of ‘30 Rock’ with Jennifer Aniston, and naturally the conversation came around to the actress’s actual encounter with the Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate during a recent ‘Saturday Night Live.’

How did the 44-year-old mother of five react to the actress who’s so brutally mocked her for weeks? Or as Fey calls it, ‘goofing on her.’

‘She was very nice,’ said Fey, as if she meant it. ‘Perfectly lovely.’

That makes Fey the second SNL performer to rave about the governor. Alec Baldwin, of all liberal people, said much the same in defending the conservative governor’s appearance on the iconic late-night program that drew its highest ratings since 1994 with the real Palin.

Later with Conan, Fey escalated her compliments. ‘She was super-nice’ said Fey, ‘and a really good sport.’

In fact, late that evening when the governor discovered the actress had had her 3-year-old daughter Alice on the set, Palin offered her own daughter Bristol to babysit.
