After Barack Obama dined with Jordan’s King Abdullah and Queen Rania at the royal Beit Al Urdun palace in Amman today, the king personally drove Obama to the airport in his Mercedes 600 -- with no one else in the car, Obama spokeswoman Linda Douglass said.

The gray sedan with smoked glass was part of a motorcade that pulled onto the tarmac at the royal terminal of Queen Alia Airport. The king parked next to Obama’s charter plane.

The two got out and chatted for a few minutes, smiled and shook hands. Two Jordanian soldiers in uniform, with red-pattern kaffiyahs on their heads, saluted Obama as he headed up the stairs of the plane for a flight to Tel Aviv.

Obama’s next ride should be stylish too. Its his first trip on his 757 charter since it was reconfigured for him with ‘Change We Can Believe In’ painted on the fuselage -- and a black recliner chair up front with ‘Obama ’08 President’ embroidered on the back.
