One of the nice little things about not running for president -- besides not having at least half the population hate your guts and others around the world set your likeness on fire for eager TV cameras -- is that if someone in your family takes an unflattering photograph of you, chances are you can have it destroyed or deleted.

Not so the candidates for president from any party. They have, by their burning ambition to live in the White House, forsaken the slimmest hope of privacy. They can’t pick their ears -- or nose, they can’t scratch themselves, they can’t take a mouthful of food, they can’t slip on the sidewalk, they can’t make any facial expression that isn’t captured by someone peeking into their life with a camera, a video or a cellphone.

It’s not fair. It’s truly an inhuman, pathetic way to live. On the other hand, nobody made them run for election. Some of them love the attention. Some of them put up with it.

It’s also pretty funny for the rest of us sitting here as voyeurs passing comfortable judgment on these strangers, one of whom will be in our lives night and day for years to come. Not to mention profoundly affecting the course of our life as a nation.

Some very creative web producer at Channel 2 WBBM-TV in Chicago has pulled together 26 of the least flattering photographs of presidential candidates from recent months.

It’s a hoot!

You don’t want to miss these. And return to the site again and again if you ever sense the slightest temptation to run for president.
