Opinion: Rudy Giuliani names California finance team

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s campaign is expected to announce tomorrow morning a California finance leadership team full of corporate heavy hitters, two former state party chairs and a mix of GOP politics.

Chairman of the fundraising panel will be Jon Liebman, CEO and co-owner of Brillstein Entertainment Partners, who once served as an assistant U.S. attorney in New York under Giuliani. Also serving will be Bob Naylor, a longtime moderate Assembly member who was a chairman of the California Republican Party, and Frank Visco, also a former party chair a and longtime party fundraiser on the more conservative side, from Lancaster.

Paul Folino, chairman and CEO of Emulex Corp. in Orange County, who served on Gov. Schwarzenegger’s transition team, will serve along with Floyd Kvamme, a Silicon Valley executive who supported George W. Bush in 2000, Ken Derr, retired chairman and CEO of Chevron Corp., Kelly Roberts, co-owner of Riverside’s Mission Inn and a longtime Republican activist and fundraiser, Ron Plotkin, CEO of Directional Marketing at Monster Worldwide, and Bill Mundell, formerly with IKM and ex-board chairman of Vidyah Inc.
