If the San Francisco 49ers can use pilates and yoga, so can Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.

Coach Kevin Rooney has been having a female instructor come in and direct his players in a one hour workout of pilates and yoga to help the players with flexibility.

‘They do like it,’ Rooney said. ‘They moan and groan they’re doing it. It’s kind of painful, but they feel it helps loosen up their muscles.’

Notre Dame has been making improvement this summer behind new quarterback Grant Kraemer, who hardly played last season after being the JV QB as a sophomore. Koa Farmer, a running back-receiver committed to California, is considered the Knights’ top player. They also return their top kicker in Lucas Alfonso.

Alfonso is probably leading the team in yoga. That’s what kickers do.
