Baseball: Stellar relief by Loyola’s Quinn Brodey in North Carolina

Pitcher Quinn Brodey of Loyola struck out five in two innings of relief to help his Babe Ruth team defeat RBI, 3-0, at the Tournament of the Stars in Cary, N.C.

On Sunday, he will find out if he is among 40 players who make the cut to continue tryouts in Los Angeles in August for the USA 18U team. Brodey will be a senior this fall. He is committed to Stanford.

Gardena Serra’s Denz’l Chapman had two stolen bases for RBI. Fountain Valley’s Brock Lundquist had a triple and single for Babe Ruth.
