Wednesday’s signing day brings to a close the recruiting competition for the class of 2013, but that means the focus now turns to the class of 2014. And there’s lots of talent in Southern California.

Gardena Serra has two big-time prospects in defensive back-receiver Adoree’ Jackson and linebacker Dwight Williams. Jackson already has offers from UCLA, USC, Florida, Ohio State, LSU and Texas A&M. Williams is being wooed by the Bruins, Washington and Colorado. Serra’s quarterback, Jalen Greene, is also expected to draw lots of offers.

Bellflower St. John Bosco will have more than half a dozen players with early offers, including defensive backs Jaleel Wadood and Naijiel Hale, offensive lineman Damien Mama, defensive lineman Malik Dorton and Jacobo Tuioti-Mariner and linebacker Chandler Leniu.

Mater Dei defensive back Jonathan Lockett is starting to pick up offers. Lompoc defensive lineman Ainuu Taua is a big-time prospect with offers from Washington, UCLA and California.

St. Bonaventure tight end Bryce Dixon is already the focus of a recruiting battle, with offers from Ohio State, UCLA and Miami.
