Thanks to a $5,000 investment, Simi Valley’s baseball program has put in six HD cameras around its field that will lead to Coach Matt La Belle working with video with players on hitting, pitching and fielding and perhaps live streaming of games in the future once an Internet connection is established.

It also will serve as security against vandalism.

Other schools have had video cameras in place for several years. It’s an added teaching tool for the coaching staff and players and part of the technological advances that are leading to coaches using their smart phones to monitor fields from anywhere.
