Football: Temperatures in the 100s this week

With the temperature projected to reach triple digits this coming week, high school football teams just getting into pads will need to be extra careful in dealing with heat issues.

‘We call it, ‘The Bagdad of the Valley,’’ Woodland Hills El Camino Real Coach Kevin Williams said of his team’s practice site.

‘Being in West Hills, this is nothing new for us. This is business as usual.’

Williams said there will be lots of water breaks.

Many schools have scheduled scrimmages for the following week.

Zero week games are scheduled for Aug. 23-24.
