Junior quarterback Hayden Rettig of L.A. Cathedral, sidelined last fall after surgery for a torn ACL, is headed for a full recovery, according to Coach Kevin Pearson.

Rettig was released to start throwing in January before he was shut down this month to make sure his comeback isn’t too quick.

‘I just wanted to be cautious with him,’ Coach Kevin Pearson said.

Rettig should be available for spring and summer passing competitions. He ranks as one of the top quarterback prospects in the Southland for this fall, with earlier scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Purdue and Boston College.
