Football: West Ranch’s Jeff Coprich Jr. wins Watkins Award

West Ranch defensive back Jeff Coprich Jr. has been selected the winner of the Watkins State of California Scholar Athlete of the Year Award presented to the state’s top African American male high school scholar athlete.
He will receive the award on Feb. 17 during a presentation of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Alliance of African American Athletes.
He had a 3.5 grade-point average and was a standout on defense and offense for West Ranch.
