Football: School record for Johnny Stanton

Santa Margarita junior quarterback Johnny Stanton set a school record for most yards rushing by a quarterback when he rushed for 161 yards last week against Los Alamitos. It broke the old record set by Carson Palmer of 153 yards in 1998.

The Eagles set other school records with 64 rushing attempts, 29 first downs and 80 offensive plays.

They have a bye this week and open Trinity League play next Thursday against Mater Dei at Santa Ana Stadium.
