Reseda Cleveland has become a summer baseball team to watch, sending a message that the Cavaliers will be in the West Valley League title mix next spring, so beware Chatsworth and El Camino Real.

Cleveland has wins in the VIBL this summer over the top seeds in the playoffs _ West Ranch, Chatsworth and Alemany.

Cleveland opened the playoffs with an 11-1 win over Chaminade. Pitcher Steven Perez allowed one unearned run in five innings. The Cavaliers have four returning varsity pitchers in Perez, Jack Hartman, Josh Gomez and Harley Faye.

And they have a talented junior middle infield duo in shortstop Andrew Devian and second baseman Matt Del Mundo.

Cleveland plays Simi Valley Royal on Friday in the second round of the VIBL playoffs.
