Former Woodland Hills El Camino Real baseball standout Ryan Lavarnway is getting close to the major leagues.

He was promoted by the Boston Red Sox to their Triple-A Pawtucket farm team. Lavarnway was an outfielder at El Camino Real before becoming a catcher. He was a standout at Yale.
