Based on the way each team has been shooting, it’s hard to believe Rialto and Buena are playing with a trip to the Division II CIF state championship game on the line.

Rialto leads Buena, 18-15, at halftime following a dismal second-quarter performance by both teams that yielded a total of eight points. Rialto scored its four points on two fastbreaks and Buena had only one point before Megan Cooper drained a three-pointer in the final minute of the half.

Rialto shot a dismal 23.3% from the floor in the first half and Buena wasn’t far behind at 26.1. Rialto had the majority of scoring chances, but putbacks off rebounds proved to be challenging for the Bulldogs.

Denae Williams leads Rialto with six points and eight rebounds and Buena’s Keani Albanez has six points and five rebounds (in addition to three fouls).
