Do we have to wait until Nov. 12 to see what is developing into the game of the year in the City Section, Dorsey vs. Crenshaw at Jackie Robinson Stadium? Yes, but let the hype begin.

Dorsey is 4-0 after a 40-7 rout of Compton. Crenshaw improved to 2-2 after a 50-3 victory over Riverside North. Both opponents were from the Southern Section, giving City Section teams a little revenge for some bad losses this month.

Both schools will get a little competition before their regular-season finale. Dorsey faces San Diego Mira Mesa in two weeks, and Coliseum League opponent Locke has played well enough not to be taken lightly.

As far as Crenshaw, only Locke appears to be in the way of the Cougars not having a seven-game win streak before they face the Dons.

I just hope all the alumni are there on the sideline on Nov. 12. That means Keyshawn Johnson & Co. for Dorsey and any Crenshaw player who doesn’t have a college or NFL game. Just listening to them talk smack will be a highlight.
