Baseball: Brown, Fried make impression at Area Code Games

The Area Code Games in Long Beach is a great way to make a positive impression in front of dozens of college and professional scouts, and Chatsworth’s Aaron Brown and Van Nuys Montclair Prep’s Max Fried did just that over the weekend.

Brown, a senior, went four for four with four runs batted in playing for the Milwaukee Brewers team against the Texas Rangers. Fried, a junior, struck out three in two innings.

Of course, future first-round draft pick Henry Owens from Huntington Beach Edison did nothing to diminish his reputation. He struck out six of the seven batters he faced in an earlier game for the Brewers’.
