Girls’ basketball: Long Beach Poly headed for loss

BAKERSFIELD--The longest reign in California basketball history is about to come to an end.

El Dorado Hills Oak Ridge holds a 49-40 lead over Long Beach Poly with 1 minute 43 seconds left in the Division I championship at Rabobank Arena, meaning the Jackrabbits’ streak of four consecutive state titles is in serious jeopardy.

Poly has been its own worst enemy in the fourth quarter, missing layups and free throws and committing turnovers.
