Moorpark (3-0) has climbed to No. 9 in The Times’ football rankings, and a major factor is the Musketeers have an offensive line that is creating holes for the running backs and protecting the quarterbacks.

The players to watch have been offensive tackle Joe Frank (6-foot-4, 290 pounds), who is committed to Air Force, and center Pat Stewart (6-3, 250), who also is receiving interest from military academies.

You have to wonder if Coach Tim Lins has them answering, ‘Yes sir, no sir.’

The line has been helped by the presence of long-time assistant coach John Kidder, a former UCLA lineman.

Moorpark and Westlake Village Westlake (3-0) could be headed on a collision course to decide the Marmonte League championship on Nov. 13 at Westlake.
