Football: Long Beach Poly tops CIF poll

Long Beach Poly was selected No. 1 in the CIF preseason Pac-5 Division poll. Servite, which plays the Jackrabbits on Thursday evening at Long Beach Veterans Stadium, was ranked No. 2 and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, Mission Viejo and Edison rounded out the top five.

The top-ranked teams in other divisions: Rancho Cucamonga in the Central Division, Citrus Hill in the Eastern Division, St. Margaret’s in the East Valley Division, Corona Centennial in the Inland Division, Paraclete in the Mid-Valley Division, Rio Hondo Prep in the Northeast Divsion, St. Bonaventure in the Northern Division, Oaks Christian in the Northwest Division, Diamond Ranch in the Southeast Division, Laguna Hills in the Southern Division, La Habra in the Southwest Division and Palmdale in the Western Division.
