A freshman football player at Garden Grove High and his neighbor organized a car wash today to help pay for the funeral of Argonauts senior fullback and linebacker Kevin Telles, who died Friday night after collapsing during a game against Westminster.

Christian Wisniewski, 14, and neighbor Jimmy Webb, 32, told the Orange County Register that they planned to give the proceeds from the car wash held in Garden Grove to Telles’ family at a memorial service this evening.

About 50 volunteers washed nearly 200 cars and raised $4,600, according to the Register.
