The Fairfax gym was filled to capacity at 5:30 p.m. by the start of the junior varsity game, and now we’re minutes away before Westchester (16-1) takes on Fairfax (12-2) in probably the best sports rivalry game in the City Section.

College recruiters are here from UCLA, USC, Arizona and California. Ex-NBA player Chris Mills, a Fairfax grad, has a front-row seat.

The big question is how well will Westchester do trying to contain Fairfax’s 6-foot-11 Renardo Sidney. The last time these two teams played was the City semifinals, and Sidney scored 32 points to help Fairfax pull out a 55-53 victory.
