According to CIF City Section Commissioner Barbara Fiege, Eagle Rock has forfeited its game against Belmont due to an incident involving Eagle Rock coach Johnny Lopez.

Lopez was allegedly attacked at practice on Thursday by a former player and had to spend time in the hospital.

Lopez was hired in March following the firing of former coach Jerry Chou by Eagle Rock Principal Salvador Velsaco. Chou’s dismissal prompted protests from players and students.
