Heard a couple of rumors that UCLA offered Anthony Stover a scholarship late Tuesday evening, and I went straight to his father Craig for confirmation. And it turns out there is plenty of truth to all the talk. The Bruins are interested in the 6-foot-10 senior post player from Renaissance Academy.

‘’Anthony is very excited, we’re all excited about the offer from Coach Ben Howland,’’ Craig Stover said Wednesday afternoon. ‘How could he not be excited? Every kid in Southern California dreams of playing for the Bruins. They’re high on our list right now, but we’re going to keep our options.’’

Arizona State became the 10th program to join the Stover sweepstakes, offering him a scholarship Tuesday night. According to his dad, the family plans on narrowing down the list of suitors by the end of August. And a commitment could come shortly thereafter. Stay tuned for future updates.
