When it comes to recruiting on the national level, perhaps no one has benefited more from a productive spring and a blazing start to the summer than Daniel Jenkins. In fact, several big-time Division I programs have stepped up their efforts to land the 5-foot-7 senior-to-be from Rancho Verde, although it might be too late.

Jenkins has a clear-cut favorite, UCLA, and after taking a look at this list of potential running back candidates, the Bruins could end up offering him a scholarship in the very near future. According to these quotes, Westwood is a destination he’s high on. It doesn’t appear that it would take much to secure a commitment.

Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Washington State have deals on the table. Boise State, Colorado, Georgia Tech and Missouri have all been in contact with him as well. But my guess is that several schools will, ultimately, end up disappointed if -- and when -- UCLA decides to welcome Jenkins him into the family.
