What a mess at Pacific High in San Bernardino.

According to this report, four boys’ coaches have either been fired or resigned since January. Not a good sign when school districts are trying to slash their budgets by freezing open teaching positions.

Randy Jensen, the school’s former football coach, was fired in January and Pacific administrators still haven’t found a replacement. Seems as if they’re not making much of an effort. Another bad sign when you consider the program was already having trouble attracting enough players, and keeping them eligible.

Maybe they can talk the guy who works the graveyard shift at the local 7-11 to draw up a few plays in between restocking the chili dogs and sweeping out the freezer.

And who needs a wrestling coach? The morning bartender at the South Side Saloon would probably love to help out. He has put a firm headlock on a patron or two.

Seriously, I predict Pacific will be the first Southland football team to forfeit its season because it couldn’t find enough healthy, eligible bodies. Just what San Bernardino needs. More bored teenagers wandering the streets after school.
