Who had the best football team in the San Gabriel Valley last year?

Was it Muir, which won the Pacific League? Or was it Charter Oak or South Hills, which advanced to the semifinals of the Southwest Division?

Asking who had the area’s best may become a thing off the past. The Southern Section wants to make some modifications to its football divisions and has sent a proposal to the schools, whose league representatives will vote on it at a section meeting next month.

One of the proposed changes is an all-SGV division that includes the Almont, Del Rio, Miramonte, Pacific and San Antonio leagues.

If you exclude Bishop Amat and St. Francis, this would be the closest thing to a San Gabriel Valley-playoff possible.

Check back later for coaches reactions to the proposal.
