There’s no mistaking who Anthony Stover is once the junior from Renaissance Academy sets foot on the basketball court. He is, after all, 6 feet 10 and weighs 210 pounds. And wait until you get a load of his feet. The kid wears a size 19 shoe. That’s right, size 19.

So, yes, it’s safe to say that he’s physically imposing and his numbers are a reflection of that. Stover is averaging 10 points, eight rebounds and eight blocks a game -- a total that would rank him among the states’ top front-line players if the Wildcats posted stats on MaxPreps.com.

Wait, there’s more. He’s finished with a triple-double in two games and narrowly missed duplicating the feat in two others. Stover had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks against Etiwanda, followed by a 10-point, 10-rebound, 11-block effort against Muir.

That type of production has caught the attention of several Pac-10 Conference programs as well as recruiters from Florida and Gonzaga. If you haven’t seen him in person, Stover and the Wildcats play Santa Barbara on Saturday in the Johnnie Cochran Classic, a showcase at Cal St. Dominguez. Once there, you can’t miss spotting him in a crowd.
