Since league play started, Matt Trabold has developed into a reliable scorer for the Lancaster boys’ basketball team. And, on Thursday night, Trabold and the Eagles proved they’re definite Golden League title chasers with a 64-56 victory over Knight.

The victory sets up what should be a great showdown Tuesday night between Lancaster and Highland -- the only undefeated teams left in the Golden League (although the Eagles play a decent Antelope Valley squad on Monday). I think the Bulldogs are going to take this one, though, because very few teams have put the scoring lock on senior 6-foot-7 forward Kyisean Reed. Still, the Eagles did manage to keep Knight big man Paul George under control, so anything is possible.
