In a blow to Chatsworth High’s baseball team, left-handed pitcher Casey Fry, expected to be one of the top pitchers in the City Section this season, has left school and isn’t expected to play for a high school team this season.

Chatsworth Coach Tom Meusborn, pictured, said Monday he believes Fry has enrolled at Pierce College and may try to play for the Brahmas.

Fry was an All-City pitcher at El Camino Real as a sophomore, then was limited to pitching junior varsity last season after transferring to Chatsworth.

Chatsworth, the defending City champion in baseball, still has lots of pitching depth, led by returning All-City player James Wharton, but the loss of the hard-throwing Fry gives opposing teams a chance to challenge the Chancellors both in West Valley League play and for the City title.
