Former Santa Clara coach thrilled to see Saints in the final

December 5, 2007 |  6:06 pm

Football It's been more than four decades since Santa Clara has played in a divisional   final, but there's at least one guy who still remembers the Saints' glory days.

Check out this article in Tuesday's Ventura County Star about former Santa Clara  football coach and National Federation of State High Schools Assn. Hall of Famer Lou Cvijanovich. He led the Saints to their only titles in 1963 and 1965 and the 81-year-old is thrilled to see his former program back on top.

Second-seeded Santa Clara will play fourth-seeded Bishop Diego for the Mid-Valley Division championship at Moorpark College at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
