Let’s just cut straight to the chase in the Eastern Division.

No other team will touch top-seeded Serrano and second-seeded Riverside North in their long burnout to the championship game. It should be one heckuva drag race.

These teams have combined for just one loss this season, and that was North’s one-point defeat to Redlands East Valley in the season opener.

The Diamondbacks don’t have a 1,000-yard passer or 1,000-yard rusher on their roster, but they still won their first 10 games by an average score of 31-9.

The Huskies have been slightly better prepped for their postseason run. They lost to REV, didn’t play well in a 14-0 win over Kaiser, but then got on a roll against the three C’s; Corona, Canyon Springs and Chaparral, and haven’t won by less than 21 points since.

I like North in this final, just because they’ve been in a knock-down, drag-out game this season. Serrano, meanwhile, has just been pummeling inferior opponents.

North 27, Serrano 21
