Age: About 5 years

Weight: 5 pounds

About Roxy: She’s a special favorite of shelter volunteers, who are working hard to find her a home with someone who will love her as much as they do! She came into the shelter as a stray on Oct. 20, and despite the fact that she had painted toenails -- which would seem to indicate that she’d been someone’s pet -- no one came to claim her.

Since then, she’s had a hard time dealing with the coldness of the shelter (which is why she’s modeling a faux-fur-lined doggie coat in her photo here). But she’s shown off her charming personality to everyone she’s met. ‘Roxy is friendly, sweet and cute as could be, and she gets along very nicely with her shelter mates,’ shelter volunteer Louise Montgomery says.

For more information: Meet Roxy in person at the Long Beach Animal Care Center (Kennel 717), 7700 Spring Street, or call volunteer Louise Montgomery at (562) 897-5282 to learn more.
